Shared Drive Cleanup - Lessons Learned

IM professionals believe that the majority of information retained by organizations does not have business value (records with expired retention periods, duplicates, drafts, etc.), a portion of which is likely to be stored on shared drives. To apply management controls to these drives, organizations must determine which information has value and needs to be retained, migrated, or otherwise managed and which can be destroyed. Learn from three IM professionals how they assessed and conducted cleanup projects in their respective organizations.

  •  Ellie Maier, CRM, CBCP, Corporate Records Manager, CITGO Petroleum Corp.
  • Debra Mestemaker, CRM, ERMm, CIP, DS Global IM Compliance Manager, Shell
  • Beverly Harris, MBA, Documents and Data Services Team Leader, ConocoPhillips
