Luncheon Presentation:  Microsoft Ignite is one of the company’s largest events in the roadmap for IT professionals. This year’s event took place at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla. Microsoft uses the Ignite platform to share their latest updates on products and services. This year’s event had plenty of announcements along with new information about the company’s product and service portfolio. Microsoft also shared insights on their various upcoming plans and pipelined services.

While there were more than 150 announcements announced at the event, we will cover some of the significant announcements made that Information Management and Compliance professionals should be aware of over the course of the next 12 months. We will cover specific announcements and considerations for the following applications in Office 365

About the speaker: Mr. Teed is a certified SharePoint Architect and a subject matter expert in Information Management and Governance. For the past 16 years, Mr. Teed has focused on the Microsoft platform for collaboration, content, and records management. His work also includes experience with the architecture and implementation of compliance within the Enterprise including numerous complimentary technologies within the Microsoft ecosystem.

Mr. Teed has led numerous companies through their transition from on-prem collaboration/content solutions to the Office 365 platform. This includes the development of an Information Governance strategy within Office 365 leveraging the Microsoft Security and Compliance Center features and capabilities. These capabilities were assessed relative to established company policies and the technical ability to implement and sustain a compliant environment within the new Office 365 deployment.

Mr. Teed has assisted four companies over the past 18 months as they identify how Office 365 capabilities can be leveraged. Leading the clients in the assessment and application of Microsoft Information Protection and the Labeling capabilities across the different Office 365 applications. These assessments included identification of potential IT process changes, on-going maintenance roles and responsibilities, and gaps in available functionality that the organization may want to fill with third-party add-ons.

Prior to his recent experience, Mr. Teed developed numerous application add-ons for Office 365, filling specific client requirements around retention, auditing, site management and classification.
