ARMA Houston Chapter respects the privacy and security of its members and  website visitors. The goal of the Chapter website is to provide members and site visitors with professional records and information management information, including contacts, resources and services. This Privacy Policy ("Policy") outlines the information the Chapter may collect from visitors to its website and how the Chapter may use and disclose that information.

We encourage you to read this Policy before using the website. Your use of the website signifies that you agree with all terms of this Policy, so please do not use our website if you disagree with any part of this Policy.

What personal information do we collect and why do we collect it?

The Chapter may collect personal information about you (such as your name, telephone number and email address) that you provide voluntarily. You ordinarily are not required to register or provide personal information in order to access the Chapter website although certain sections of our website are available only to ARMA members registered with this Chapter. In addition, if you choose to contact us to ask a question, we will collect your personal information so that we can respond to your question. The Chapter may retain the personal information you provide. If you do not wish us to retain any personal information, do not provide it to us.

The Chapter website collects statistical information on the number of pages, visits and log-ons (requests made to the website hosting server). In the collection of such statistics, Internet Protocol (IP) addresses are tallied to obtain the total count, but are not retained. Only aggregate information on site usage is provided to prospective advertisers or partners. Server log information such as IP address, time of visit and page(s) visited is used in aggregated form by the Chapter and may also be provided to potential advertisers.

When do we disclose the personal information we collect?

Except as provided herein, the Chapter will not sell or rent personal information about you to unaffiliated third parties.

We may disclose personal information you have provided through our websites to persons or companies that we retain to carry out activities for which you have registered or in which you have otherwise asked to participate. The Chapter requires persons and companies to which it discloses personal information to restrict their use of such information to the purposes for which it has been provided by the Chapter and not to disclose that information to others. The Chapter may employ outside technical assistance and services to provide Chapter members with the maximum web services available within Chapter resources. These services must have privacy and security policies in place that extend and continue this protection to member and site visitor information.

How do we maintain the integrity of your member information?

The Chapter updates member information from the national registry. The Chapter provides a method for members to keep their personal information accurate, complete and current. What other information do we collect?

Pictures, photographs and graphics in the ARMA Houston Photo Gallery shall not be used for any advertisement, brochure, commercial or personal purpose or any activity relating to the promotion or sale of any product or service.
